Steven has worked in Structured Investments for nearly 15 years, being a key figure in two start-up distribution businesses. Most recently, he was a Managing Director at Gilliat Financial Solutions where he oversaw the Sales & Marketing teams as Gilliat became the leading independent provider in the UK market.
He joined Mariana in July 2014 to grow the investment side of the business.
Nev has worked in Financial Services since 2000, and has specialised in Structured Products since 2006.
Nev joined the Structured Products team at Mariana in early 2020. Prior to this, Nev spent 10 years on the Equity Derivatives desk at Morgan Stanley where he was responsible for creating and pricing products for independent product providers and Discretionary Asset Managers.
After 5 years developing his knowledge of the wider financial landscape at a wrap platform in the City, James joined Gilliat in late 2011. Initially working in Sales Support, he quickly moved up to Sales and was an important member of the team specialising in working with advisors on bespoke deposit solutions. His hard work and application was duly recognised when, in July 2014, several senior members of the Gilliat team joined Mariana and asked James to go with them. Subsequently James has not looked back and is relishing the challenge of broadening his skill set with other investment products.
Having spent the previous 4 years working in the service sector with particular focus on the City, Jago joined Mariana in early 2015. His proven track record of building strong and lasting relationships with clients was one of the key features that drew him to the attention of Mariana as they developed their team. Initially joining in a sales role he quickly gained a strong understanding of the mechanics of structured products and eventually progressed to take responsibility for their design and development. Continuing to broaden his skill set, Jago works across various business lines within Mariana as well as supplementing his knowledge with various CISI qualifications. Jago is also active within the City as a Freeman of both the City of London and the Worshipful Company of International Bankers.
Malcolm is an experienced portfolio manager having managed global investment portfolios across a broad range of asset classes. He has over 25 years of experience as an accountant, markets and risk professional and investment manager with major global firms including PwC, HSBC, Citibank, Lehman Brothers and Nomura, where he was Managing Director. He also has significant project management, forensic accounting and complex asset valuation experience through his work with PwC Switzerland.
Malcolm is a partner at Mariana where he manages the tax efficient investment business.
After graduating from the London School of Economics, Elton enjoyed a successful career with a number of international banks. Following the financial crisis, he believed that the direction of financial services would tend towards the more boutique style firms and in response, founded Mariana in 2009. Elton has continued to develop Mariana and the firm is now considered a market leader in the provision of financial services in the institutional and structured investment sectors.
